Salvador de Bahia gave birth to great fighters who shaped the history of Brazilian martial arts, such as Manoel dos Reis Machado – Mestre Bimba (Capoeira) or Waldemar Santana (Capoeira / Luta Livre / Jiu Jitsu) known for having won against Hélio Gracie after a Vale Tudo fight of 3h45.
From the start at Bōa, we have been keen to promote Brazilian culture, this is what we have done once again with the BJJ kimono "Baiano" which draws its inspiration from Salvador, the capital of the State of Bahia, a city of great cultural richness which has been a point of convergence of European, African and Amerindian cultures.
The BJJ Kimono "Baino" is for us a tribute to this city and region of the Brazil.
We chose a 450Gr jacket to lighten the kimono as much as possible and we preferred cotton pants rather than RipStop, because it is a fabric that is more pleasant to the touch and which offers you greater resistance to the abrasion of tatami mats as well as machine washes.
