BŌA Fightwear · Estilo de vida

Our Story

Since 2014

A French brand born from practice, fuelled by Brazilian energy and built alongside those who live and breathe combat sports.

01 · The beginning

A brand born on the mats

BŌA was founded in France in 2014 with a simple belief: combat gear can bring together identity, technical performance and culture.

The brand grew through close contact with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, No-Gi Grappling and disciplines that share the same commitment to effort, movement and progress.

From the outset, BŌA has never viewed this world from the outside. Practice, clubs and conversations with fighters set the pace.

02 · The name

BŌA: a short, positive and vibrant word. A way of saying “it’s good”, of offering encouragement and sharing positive energy.

More than a name

The name BŌA reflects the brand’s Brazilian influence and mindset. It conveys momentum, confidence and the pleasure of progressing together.

Not the snake

BŌA Fightwear is not defined by the animal. Its identity comes from a positive expression, a culture and a way of living the practice: estilo de vida.

04 · A story in motion

The BŌA journey

2014

BŌA is founded

The brand takes shape in France around combat sports and an identity directly inspired by Brazilian culture.

Early years

Practice as the starting point

The first products and collections are developed with clubs, teams and practitioners.

Evolution

From the gi to No-Gi

The range expands: gis, rashguards, shorts, technical apparel and lifestyle pieces express different facets of the practice.

Today

A clearer, stronger identity

BŌA establishes a more structured, premium language without erasing its underground, sporting and community roots.

05 · Clubs and teams

Growing together

BŌA’s story is written in training rooms, beside the mats and through shared moments.

Clubs, coaches, athletes and practitioners have always played an essential role. They bring the products to life, put them to the test and pass on combat-sports culture.

This closeness is a reminder that a fightwear brand is built not only around products, but around a community.

06 · Evolution

Evolving without losing our roots

From one collection to the next, BŌA evolves its design, materials and way of telling the brand’s story.

The early, highly direct underground expression gradually gives way to a more refined universe. The visual language becomes clearer, the details more precise and the collections more cohesive.

This evolution does not replace the original identity. It distils it: African roots, Brazilian energy, a modern warrior spirit and the pursuit of technical performance.

Lines such as MA-8R, Raiz Urbana, Raiz Esportiva, Roll Rules and Representa reflect the desire to give every collection its own idea, rhythm and personality.

Continuing the story

BŌA continues to pursue the same goal: creating gear that matters to practitioners.

The brand moves forward between heritage and innovation, performance and lifestyle, technical standards and visual expression.

Each new collection is an opportunity to continue this story without forgetting where it began: a passion for combat sports and the desire to share it.
