How to choose a BJJ gi?

Choosing a BJJ gi depends on your level, training frequency, body shape and intended use, whether for regular training or competition.

Should I choose a lightweight or thicker BJJ gi?

A lightweight BJJ gi offers more comfort and freedom of movement, while a thicker gi provides more resistance to grips and intensive training.

Which BJJ gi is best for beginners?

For beginners in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, it is best to choose a comfortable, durable gi with a proper fit that allows regular training without discomfort.

What should I wear with a BJJ gi?

A BJJ gi can be completed with a belt matching your rank, a rashguard, grappling shorts or other equipment designed for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and No-Gi training.

How to choose your BJJ gi?

Your choice depends on your height, weight, level of practice and preferred fit. For the best fit, check our BJJ gi size guide.

Lightweight BJJ gi or heavier gi?

A lightweight gi is ideal for competition and dynamic training sessions, while a heavier model offers increased durability for regular practice in the gym.

What is the best BJJ gi for beginners?

Beginners should choose a comfortable, durable BJJ gi that allows good mobility. A mid-weight fabric provides the ideal balance between freedom of movement, proper fit and resistance during regular training sessions.
